蜂膠是一種樹脂混合物，是蜜蜂從樹芽、樹汁液，或其他植物上收集而來的產品。主要存在蜂巢之中。蜜蜂通過在蜂膠上面不斷摩擦自己，是自己的身體獲得整潔。現在，熱門發現蜂膠有著很好的抗菌消炎的效果。蜂膠很少是以最原始的狀態出現在市場上。通常可以在蜂巢上采集得到蜂膠，蜂膠會包含其他蜂產品成分。蜂膠含有300多種化合物。人們很難從常規的方法得到天然蜂膠，只能采取偷的方法，將蜂膠從蜂巢內偷走。蜜蜂生產蜂膠的目的是保持蜂巢內干凈清潔。因此，蜂膠與其他的蜂巢有著不同的特性。

Propolis or bee glue is a resinous mixture that honey bees collect from tree buds, sap flows, or other botanical sources. They are available and used in their hives. All the day long the bees get hygened by rubbing themselves on the propolis. It is today known that the propolis has antibiotic effect. Propolis is rarely available in its pure form. It is usually obtained from beehives and contains bee products. Within its structure, there are more than 300 isolated compounds. It is not always possible to be found pure and the common method to obtain it, is to steal from the hive. It is produced by bees in order to keep their hive hygenic. So it has a different structure than other bee products.
