蜂花粉是歷史上最著名最古老的營養品之一。傳說在奧斯曼帝國時期，就已經有人開始食用蜂花粉。花粉是花朵的雌蕊。蜜蜂停在花朵上采蜜時，花粉球會黏在蜜蜂的腿上。蜜蜂分泌唾液，將花蕊黏在自己和其他小伙伴的身上。調查發現，如果不是采集花粉，使花粉受精，地球上的生命在幾年之內便會滅絕。養蜂人會將花粉采集器放在蜂巢門前，蜜蜂進入蜂巢的時候，花粉采集器會過濾下蜜蜂腿上的花粉，養蜂人由此采集得到蜂花粉。
蜂花粉里總共含有22種有用的氨基酸、27種礦物鹽、天然激素、酶、顏料、碳水化合物和發酵物。其中天然維生素維生素A, B1, B2, B3, B4, B5, B6, B7, B8, B9, B12, C, D, E, H 和維生素P，天然礦物質包括鋁、鎳、鈦和鋅、鐵、鈣。

Bee pollen is the one of the oldest known nutrition supplements in the history. It is known that during the Ottoman Empire, people had made use of the pollen. The pollen is the male organ of the flowers. When bees landed on a flower, the pollen balls are adhered onto their feet. The bees thanks to a saliva, adhere them onto their feet and each other. Through the researches, it was foreseen that if pollens are not transfered by bees the life on earth could have ended in a few years. The beekeepers put the pollen trappers on the gates the bees enter into their hives. While the worker bees pass through them the pollen is skimmed from their feet and falls onto the plate put by the beekeeper.
