貫葉連翹全草富含各種化學元素。全草含鞣質10%，酸解產生花白素；揮發油主成分為蒎烯、倍半萜烯；樹脂〔中有抗菌成分稱貫葉連翹樹脂Ⅰ，Ⅱ（HyperesinⅠ及Ⅱ）〕；另含維生素C、胡蘿卜素、蕓香甙（葉含2%，花0.095%）、金絲桃甙、槲皮甙、槲皮素、咖啡酸、綠原酸、少量皂甙、β-谷甾醇。
